Allen Crabbe and Justin Cobbs combined for 49 points as Cal's men's basketball team opened its season with a 78-65 win over CSU Bakersfield. The Bears jumped out to a 30-9 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game and more or less played the Roadrunners to a standstill the rest of the game, until a late run cut into the Bears' lead.
