Cal linebacker commit Cameron Goode
The Bears continued to rack up a record number of preseason commitments with today's verbal from Klein Collins (Spring, TX) High School linebacker Cameron Goode.

The 3 star Goode hasn't had a chance to visit Cal yet but Cal's high academic profile and future prospects made the decision for Goode and his family too good to pass up.

"Cal's the top public university in the country," said Goode, who estimates a 3.7 gpa. "I'd say the biggest factor for me and my family was the academics.

"My mom said she'll miss me but she wants me to get that Cal degree."

The 6-3/195 Goode earned 1st team all-district honors both on the field and academically, helping lead Klein Collins to the Texas state quarterfinals with wins in the first two rounds of the playoffs while adding 105 tackles, six sacks and one interception, run back for a touchdown.

Goode was recruited primarily by special teams coach Marc Tommerdale and linebackers coach Garrett Chachere and will be slated to play outside linebacker for the Bears.
