Furd was considering cutting programs to meet an operating deficit, but has decided to keep all its teams. There will be accross the board cutting in costs for all teams, even football (no new coach bathrooms?) and basketball.

Cal (at least Sandy) is reconsidering its cuts, assuming wealthy alums come to the table to support cut mens and womens programs and to support women's programs (numerical Title IX requirements will have to be met). At least the Sandy is trying. I would read Grey's commentaries on Title IX closely to see what is required. Stay tuned.

This is good news. Hopefully some really good news comes out of it, like that we are retaining some of the programs originally announced as being cut.
